In this project, we want to focus on complex collaboration. To know if you are involved in complex collaboration, consider whether any of the following test questions from Lynda Gratton’s work apply to you:
- The task is unlikely to be performed successfully using only the skills of an existing group. The task must be addressed by a new group formed specifically for this purpose. The task requires collective input from highly skilled and specialized individuals.
- The task requires collective input and agreement from more than 20 people.
- The members of the team working on the task are in more than two locations.
- The success of the task is highly dependent on understanding preferences or needs of individuals outside the group.
- The outcome of the task will be influenced by events that are highly uncertain and difficult to predict.
- The task must be completed under tight time pressure.
If more than two of these statements are true for you, the task requires complex collaboration and you should participate in our project.
We would be delighted to hear from clients who are interested in contributing ideas and experiences to our research. To participate in this research, please contact Jane Kingston at jkingsto@csc.com.
