Charter of CSC's Research & Advisory Services' Strategic Outsourcing Special Interest Group
This SIG exists to develop and exchange best practices in establishing and managing IT and other business process outsourcing contracts. The SIG is a network of individuals who can be contacted at any time to exchange experiences in establishing and managing outsourcing deals. The SIG meets several times each year at conferences held in Europe and the United States of America to hear from opinion leaders and to discuss issues and best practices with other experienced managers.
Who participates?
Attendees must be involved actively in the management of outsourcing for companies that have one or more current contracts to outsource a significant part of their business for a minimum period of three years.
The group seeks actively to include practitioners who can represent experiences in dealing with many suppliers of outsourcing services. That is, the SIG is not a user group (or pressure group) for those organisations dealing with any particular supplier.
Participants need not participate in the LEF Executive Programme full research programme.
The SIG is not open to:
- Vendors of outsourcing and outsourcing-related services.
- Organisations that are intending to, but have not yet, outsourced.
Obligations of attendees
Attendees will be expected to:
- Participate actively in exchanges of views and experiences
- Complete the annual outsourcing survey
- Provide an email contact address that will be circulated to other participants in the SIG.
Participants will be invited to deliver presentations at SIG meetings that will further the knowledge and skills of SIG members in managing outsourcing contracts. We do not invite sales presentations from any organisation.
Confidentiality
In published or verbal proceedings, no discussion at the SIG will be attributed to individuals, or individual organisations, without representatives of those organisations giving their permission.
Collective and anonymous data will be included in the proceedings and published on the LEF Executive Programme web site.
