Chris Dale is an Associate of the Leading Edge Forum - Executive Programme, who has twenty-five years experience of applying measurement to Information Technology. His latest work was on the topic of IT Spending, culminating in a tour of Australia to present his findings. Other measurement-related research includes his work on Systems Development Performance, and he has also played a leading role in a range of other topics, such as Web Services and Designing Successful Software Projects. For three years, Chris was Research Director, and before this led PEP (Performance Enhancement Programme), a commercial IT benchmarking service formerly offered by Research Services.
Prior to joining CSC, Chris ran his own consultancy business, specialising in software measurement and dependability. His clients included the European Commission, the UK Ministry of Defence, British Telecom and the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate. He also lectured at City University and Bristol University. Earlier in his career, Chris worked for Cranfield IT Institute, AEA Technology, British Aerospace, ICL and Rolls Royce and Associates. He was also Chairman of the Centre for Software Reliability (CSR) from 1992 to 1996.
Chris Dale has an MA in Mathematics from Oxford University and an MSc in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Birmingham. His publications include one book and numerous articles, together with presentations at international conferences in the United Kingdom, continental Europe, South Africa and the United States.
