    Kelvin Thompson is a Partner with Heidrick & Struggles and is the Global Head of the Private Equity, Venture Capital and Alternative Financing Practice. His most recent experience spans beyond search into many arenas of corporate executive management and leadership services. Clients include global Fortune 500 companies across all industries, including key Wall Street investment banking corporations, prestigious hedge funds, private equity and venture capital firms, global consumer products companies, and global telecommunications, software and services technology clients.

    Kelvin is a regular speaker and panel leader at international conferences and seminars on a broad range of topics such as Global Growth & Innovation, Hiring of New Thinkers, Thought Leadership, and he has helped grow client companies by leading them through provocative and innovative strategizing exercises. He joined Heidrick & Struggles in 2000 and headed the CIO/CTO Practice, working with Global Fortune 500 CIOs, and is personally responsible for placing Global CIOs within Technology, Financial Services, Media & Entertainment and Consumer Products industries. He has undertaken a number of organization design projects for multinational information-intensive companies, and has written papers and articles on the evolution of the CIO, and the CEO in the 21st Century. He most recently served as the company’s Chief Strategy & Development Officer leading innovation throughout Heidrick & Struggles globally. In addition, he has served as the company’s acting Chief Marketing Officer.

    Kelvin’s nearly 20 years of experience in executive recruitment spans Europe, the United States and Asia, and his board experience includes non-executive roles and advisory member for both US and European firms. He joined Heidrick & Struggles from Norman Broadbent International, where he was President of US Operations and Chairman of its Global New Media, Entertainment and Technology Practice. He built the practice commencing in London then expanded the organization across mainland Europe. In 1997, he moved to the United States to build the ‘N.E.T.’ business, initially in New York and then subsequently Chicago, Washington, DC, and San Francisco.

    Kelvin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Honours, from London University.
