Brinley Platts, based in the UK, is a Research Associate for the Leading Edge Forum. He is well-known for his work with CIOs over the last 15 years and is a leading executive coach, author and researcher; an authority on CIO careers and skill sets. We have published two reports researched and authored by Brinley: Building Effective IT Executive Teams and Expanding the CIO Mandate (co-authored with Gordon Watt). His coaching clients include the most senior IT executives from FTSE 100 companies. His current research project is looking at how social media and other new technologies are changing the way we work in large and mid-range organizations.
Previously, Brinley led the management buyout from KPMG of the IMPACT Programme (a leading source of personal and professional development for CIOs and their core teams), where he was Managing Director for three years. Prior to his seven year engagement with the KPMG strategic consulting practice, he was Principal Consultant at the UK National Computing Centre where he developed the international training practice.
Brinley is a Fellow of the Institute for Global Work of Boston University. He has spent his entire career in organization and career development in response to relentless change fuelled by IT. He has a degree in Behavioural Science and his passion is the full realization of human resource potential.
