Sergio Giacoletto
Sergio Giacoletto has over 30 years of experience in the ICT industry in different international roles.
He retired in 2009 from his role as Executive Vice President of Oracle Corporation for Europe, Middle East and Africa, where he was responsible to manage the business across 50 countries employing over 10,000 people.
Previously he was President of AT&T Value Added Services for Europe. He spent 20 years with Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in various positions, including the CIO for Europe in the 80s’.
He is currently the Senior Independent Director of Logica plc, a non-executive director of COLT Telecom SA and of CSR Plc, and the Chairman of Sophis SA.
Sergio Giacoletto brings a wealth of business experience to the Advisory Board, as well as in depth appreciation for the impact of technology on the business and organization, having been both a user and provider of IT solutions over many years. He has personally been involved with the major ICT technologies since 1970: from the early days of mini-computers, through the beginning and expansion of internet and until the recent
development of cloud computing.
He has been involved in a number of advisory committees at the international level, including the Advisory Council of the AMCHAM to the EU, the advisory committee to the South-African Presidency, the World Council for Sustainable Business Development and the Conference Board.
He has a Master Degree in Computer Science from the University of Turin and he is the co-author of the book “Information in the Enterprise, Digital Press 1992”.
