    Michael Nelson

    Dr Michael Nelson joins the LEF as a Research Associate to help us deploy our research strategy and increase our client interaction and delivery presence in some key areas for clients and their organizations.

    Mike is currently Visiting Professor of Internet Studies in Georgetown University's Communication, Culture, and Technology (CCT) Program in Washington DC. Prior to Georgetown, Mike spent almost ten years as Director of Internet Technology and Strategy at IBM, where he managed a team helping define and implement IBM's Next Generation Internet strategy. Mike is very well known in many Internet academic, policy, and vendor circles.

    Mike's areas of expertise include:

    1. The future of the Internet.
    2. Innovation.
    3. Technology forecasting.
    4. e-government.

    Mike's first area of research will look at business transparency - how do companies decide what information to share and what to keep private. In light of the Wikileaks controversy, we think this topic is both timely and of high interest. Look out for more details in due course.

    Simon joins us from Canonical as a full-time member of the LEF.  He is a seasoned executive who has spent the last 15 years defining future IT strategies for companies in the FMCG, Retail and IT industries.  From Canon’s early leadership in the cloud computing space in 2005 to Ubuntu’s recent dominance as the #1 Cloud operating system.  Simon is a recognized presenter on the international speaker circuit.

    Simon will work across our Organizing IT for the Future and The Consumerization of IT research domains and his areas of expertise include:

    1. From innovation to commoditization, the lifecycle of business activities and how to manage this.
    2. The tactical use of open source and ecosystems.
    3. Cloud computing and the commoditization of IT.
    4. Organizing companies to manage both innovation, commoditization and external ecosystems.

    Adrian Seccombe

    Adrian joins us as an Associate member of the LEF having recently retired from his role as the Chief Information Security Officer and Senior Enterprise Architect at Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly.  Adrian is an IT visionary with extensive knowledge and practical experience in various IT, Security, Strategy & Quality Management positions in the UK, France and the US.  He was named Information Security Person of the Year (Europe) in 2010 by the SC Magazine.

    Adrian will work across a number of our interrelated research domains and his areas of expertise include:

    1. The future of mobility.
    2. Managing information as an asset including identity, risk, governance and compliance.
    3. Social media in the enterprise.

    David McKean

    David McKeanJoins May 2010

    David McKean joins us as an Associate member of the LEF.  David set up IT Leaders Ltd in 2004, which is a leading provider of leadership development for IT organizations, most notably the flagship IT Leadership programme run at Henley Business School in the UK.  He was one of the architects of the FastTrack business series.  His book, FastTrack Strategy, reached the top 10 of business strategy books.  It has been translated into several languages and is published in Europe, Asia and North America.

    David is a member of our BRM practice and works with clients to use recent research in resolving their most pressing business issues.
